About DIU

The establishment initiative of Dhaka International University was taken in the year 1994. The university was finally launched on April 7, 1995. At present, it is one of the leading private universities in Bangladesh. The university was approved by University Grants Commission and Ministry of Education of Bangladesh. The academic year of the university is divided into three semesters. Each semester of the university consists of 18 weeks including its own holiday list. It promotes eastern cultural values and meaningfully blends both east and western innovation and thoughts. The primary objective of DIU is to provide education at reasonable cost maintain quality education for the students. The core mission of the university is to provide students with opportunities, expertise and resources so that they can achieve academic, career and personal goals.

Subjects and Departments

The university has eight departments. The departments include- Department of Business Administration, Law, English, Sociology, Pharmacy, Civil, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and EEE. The university provides BBA, MBA, Evening MBA, BS, BSc, MSc, and LLB degrees to the students. Besides these the university offers various certification courses such as BAR preparation courses, Networking, LL.M and different courses that will add more value to an individual’s career. The university has a pool of highly qualified and skilled teachers whose commitment to provide superior quality to the students has made the university as one of the top private universities in Bangladesh.

Facilities Available for the Students

DIU has many clubs where the students can participate to enhance their talent and capabilities. The major clubs include- Cultural, Debating, and Language club. There are also both indoor and outdoor games facilities for the students. The laboratories of the University has all kinds of modern equipments. It also has hostel facility for the students who come from out of Dhaka or distant places. The cafeteria of the university provides good quality foods for the students. It also offers waivers and scholarships of various amounts for the students.

Dhaka International University Admission Information Procedure and Eligibility

• To apply for admission, the candidates must GPA-2.50 in both SSC and HSC examinations. The minimum combined GPA of SSC and HSC must be 6.00.

• The students of O-level must have completed 3 subjects and A-level 2 subjects with minimum grade C in all the subjects.

• The candidates will have to collect the admission form from the admission office paying Tk. 1000. The students must submit the original transcript, and certificate of SSC and HSC examination with two photocopies.

• Along with the required documents and admission form, the candidates have to submit 5 copies of passport size photos.
