Habibullah Bahar College is a famous
college in Bangladesh. It is at Kakrail-Santinagar More in Dhaka city. The nickname of the college is HBC.
Habibullah Bahar College History
Anwar Bahar Chowdhury had established the college on his wife name Habibullah Bahar in the in the year 1969. The college provides both honors and graduation level education to the students. At present, the college has about 5000 students enrolled in both honors and graduation level. It has a land area of about 1 acre in the capital of Dhaka. Since the establishment of the college, it has been contributing significantly to the development of the education sector of Bangladesh.
Subjects and Departments
The college provides HSC level education according to the rules and regulations determined by the Dhaka Education Board. Hence, the board curriculum is followed in providing education. The majors in the HSC level include Science, Humanity, and Business studies. There are 9 honors subjects available in the college. A number of topics for the master degree are 7.
Facilities Available for the Students
The college has a large library known a central library which contains more than 10,000 books. It has a departmental seminar with about 6,000 books. There are common room facilities for both male and female students. The college has a pod in the premises which as augmented the beauty of the college. The college has 65 regular teachers and 12 guest teachers for the students who are committed to providing the best education to the students.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
The HSC level
admission process follows the terms and conditions determined by the Ministry of Education and Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka.
For HSC level there are 525 seats available for Science, Business, and Humanity majors. There are 175 seats in each major. Minimum GPA for Business, Humanity and Science is consecutively 3.00, 2.5, and 3.00.
The Degree program follows the terms and conditions determined by the National University. There are 900 seats are available for Honors level. Some seats can be increased upon permission of National University. National University defines minimum total GPA.
