Khwaja Yunus Ali University is a
private university in Bangladesh. It is at Enayetpur under Sirajganj district. The nickname of the University is KYAU.
About Khwaja Yunus Ali University
The University was established on November 1, 2010. The university was established according to the private university act 1998 which was later revised in 2010. The founder chairperson of the university is Dr. M.M. Amjad Hussain. The proposal of establishment of the university was given in the year 2009, but the government of Bangladesh delayed to approval because of the revise of the act. The university has own administrative and academic building. It has a three-storied building of 58000 square feet. A there are a small number of universities in the northern part of Bangladesh, the University has been playing a very crucial role in the development of education sector in the region.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
The university admits new students three times a year. The periods include- fall, spring, and summer. The candidates have to download the admission form the University website and submit with all the required documents along with photos.
- The candidates must have GPA-2.5 in both SSC and HSC examinations. With combined GPA not below 6.00.
- The candidates must have passed five subjects in O-level and two subjects in A-level examinations with minimum GPA-4 or Grade-B.
- The candidates who want to study engineering and science must have the science background and Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics both SSC and HSC level.
- For the graduate program, the candidates must have GPA-2 in the bachelor degree exam given the candidate has academic qualifications for the undergraduate programs.
Subjects and Departments
The university has six departments. The major departments of the university include- School of Science and Engineering, Bio-Medical Science, Business, Human Science, Law, and Social Science. Under science faculty, the university provides textile, computer, electronics and electrical, telecommunication engineering. Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pharmacy Department constitute the school of Biomedical Science. Under the School of Business, the University offers BBA and MBA degree. English, Library, and Islamic Studies constitute the Human Science department. Social Science faculty consist Sociology and Social Work departments.
Facilities Available for the Students
The university has hostel facility for the students. It has three storied buildings of 58,000 square feet. The boy’s hall can accommodate 256 male students. The girls’ hostel consists of 192 seats for the girls. For the faculties and administrative staffs, there are 16 apartments. The university has three clubs in which the students can participate. The clubs of the university include- English Language Club, Engineering Club, and Medical Club. The students can take part in these clubs to improve their extra curriculum activities and real life capabilities. The library of the university is very big and has thousands of books, journals, research papers and periodicals. It offers the scholarship of various amounts for the students based on their result in SSC and HSC examinations.
