About Leading University
The university started its operation from 4th March 2002. The university was established according to the private university act of 1992, revised in the year 2010. Since establishment, the university is conducting its education programs with great passion and enthusiasm. The University aims to provide all kinds of modern amenities to the students so that the students can become well equipped for taking the challenges of 21st century. It is committed to improving the education system of the Sylhet region because, before the establishment of this university, there were only a few universities that were providing education in Sylhet with very poor quality. The students of the Sylhet region had to go to the capital Dhaka to achieve higher
education in Bangladesh. But now they can get world class education staying in their district.
Subjects and Departments
The university has five faculties to provide the best and modern education to the students. The faculties include Business Administration, Modern Science, Social Science, Arts and Language, and Islamic Studies. The university provides BBA and MBA program under Business Faculty. It also offers Executive MBA programs for the students. Major subjects in the Business Faculty include- Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, and Human Resource Management. The other degrees provided by the university include- Bachelor of Science and computer engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, architecture, civil engineering, English, law, and Islamic studies. The university also offers master's in public health.
Facilities Available for the Students
It has a permanent campus with the huge land acquisition in the Sylhet city. The campus of the university is huge with lush green environment. The library of the university is very big containing thousands of books, journals, research papers, newspapers, and periodicals. The students can study in a peaceful environment in the library. The university has a well organized neat and clean library. It offers various scholarships for both poor and meritorious students. They offer scholarship on the base of the result. The students having GPA- 5 in both HSC and SSC are given 75% tuition waiver. There are also the opportunities to get from 10% to 50% waiver on tuition fee. It depends on the result in the board examinations. The students doing well in the term final exams are given various scholarships and financial incentive.
Leading University Sylhet Admission Information and Procedure
The candidates, who want to get admission in the undergraduate program, must have minimum GPA- 2.5 in both SSC and HSC examinations. The combined GPA has to be 6.00 adding the GPA of the board exams.
Candidates must have at least five subjects in O-level and two subjects in A-level with B grade in four subjects and C in the remaining subjects.
The candidates have to submit certificates of both SSC and HSC with mark sheets. Four copies of passport size photos have to be provided at the time of application.
