Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University

Established in 1999, it is one of the best medical institutions in the country. Presently ranked at 9957 positions, the university is carrying the legacy of the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Research (IPGMR), founded in December 1965. In the year 1998, the Bangladesh Government took the initiative to convert the IPGMR into a Medical University with a hope to expand the higher medical research and studies in the country. Within a short span of time, it grew up its reputation for offering best postgraduate education in various specialties of medicine. The university at present offers- MD, Ph.D., MS, MPhil, MDS, Diploma and FCPS programs and the current vice chancellor is Prof. Pran Gopal Datta. Admission Procedure and Eligibility

Every they offer admission for post graduation courses like MD, MS, M.Phil programs. The eligibility to appear for the test that is taken every year is: The candidates should be the citizen of Bangladesh. Students appearing for MD, MS, M.Phil programs should have to have 50% score in their B.Sc programs conferred to them from reputed universities.

Foreign Student Fee: SAARC students have to pay a nominal registration fee to get admitted in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University but candidates apply for the UG, PG, M.Phil and MS programs in medical disciplines have to pay more compared to them. Before that they also have to show legal migration certificates and their academic transcripts till date.
