It is the first and the biggest dental, medical college in Bangladesh. It is approved by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. The college is affiliated with Faculty of Medicine of the University of Dhaka. It has established its permanent campus in, Dhaka in three bighas of land. It operates its activities in a seven-story building. The college provides various degrees and training including Ph.D., MS, and FCPS. Till 2014 about 1200 candidates have passed from this institution.
The college has a big, modern, and air-conditioned lecture theater that can accommodate about 150 students. It has well-equipped laboratories for various subjects. The library consists of thousands of books, and the books are regularly updated based on the progress in the medical science. Considering the need for the students, the college authority has arranged hostel facility. The hostel is very close the campus.
The admission process takes place based on the principles determined by the government of Bangladesh. The final candidates are selected based on the result of the SSC and HSC board exam results and the result of the admission test. The admission test is run by the Director General of Health and Services. The students must have combined GPA 8.00 in both SSC and HSC examination. The candidate must not have GPA less than 3.5 in any board exam.
The selected candidates in the admission test have to submit the following documents at the time of entry:
Three copies of latest passport size photocopy
All the original certificates and mark-sheets along with the testimonial from the principal of the college and one set of duly attested photocopy.
The admission office will keep the documents until the completion of the course All the payments for access are non-refundable
The college has its big campus in Dhaka with all the modern amenities. The campus is free from politics and all forms of violence.
