There are two ways of submitting - physical submission and automotive submission . Both are very essential.
Manual Submissions
You should choose manual submissions to indexes. Major indexes such as DMoz and Yahoo need manual submission and take a very long time to get into.
Automotive Submission
There are lots of free search engine submission services existing on the net that will submit your pages for free of charge, but these are generally limited to a small number of search engines which does not actually help if you want to improve your publicity.
Choose Suitable Category
Before submit page choose perfect category. Try to ensure that the group you choose to register under is well populated and that there is not only one or two sites there.
