Bangladesh Open University
The Bangladesh Open University or BOU was established on 21st October 1992. It is a public university. It serves distance mode of learning. The varsity is mandated to promote education through the multimedia instruction of both specific and general knowledge using any media and technology. The varsity provides distance learning for schools, courses, services, and management. Situated in the Board Bazar, Gazipur District, Dhaka Division, (the main campus), the varsity stands to be the 7th largest university in the world considering the enrollment. The current ranking of it is 12971.
The aim of the university is to offer education to all. They are focused on educating the Bangladeshi mass people. Those who can not manage to reach school or college regularly. BOU is granted to offer the Degrees summoned under the Clause 6(c) of the BOU Act 1992. This is a recognized national university accredited by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, which is the statutory body attached to the Bangladesh Ministry of Education. There are six academic schools and one administrative division. Halls: Open Universities are not residential. Students can appear for the examinations and class from their home. They don’t have to attend regular classes at all like.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility
The Applicants with minimum second class or GPA 2.50 in both SSC and HSC are eligible to seek admission in BOU.
