Dhaka stock exchange is an authority organization where stock brokers and traders are bought and sold stocks (shares) bonds and notes on the base of demand and supply. In sort it is known as DSE. . It is located in Motijheel at the heart of the Dhaka city.There are two Stock exchanges in Bangladesh. One is in Dhaka another is in Chittagong.

History

East Pakistan Stock Exchange was founded in 28 April 1954 and started trading in 1956. It is managed under the Company Act 1994. It was renamed as Dacca Stock Exchange Ltd in 13 May 1964. After 1971 first trading was in 1976. The automated exchanging was started on 1 January 2001. A Central Securities Depository System was initiated on 24 January in 2004. Book-Building Method has introduced in 2010. Web Based Trading Software-MSA Plus has introduced on 10th June 2012. It became Correspondent member of World Federation of Exchanges on 14th October 2012. Next Generation Automated Trading System has inaugurated on 11th December 2014. Total a 25 board of director members handle the management and operation of Dhaka stock exchange.

Working Area of Dhaka Stock Exchange

The organization provides listed companies with a guide seek capital fund from the people and at the same time it provides the investors a place to buy and sell shares of the listed companies. It gives the speculators a spot to purchase and offer shares of the recorded organizations. Through IPO the listed companies want to raise fund from the general public, it goes for public offering after completing necessary regulatory compliances.

Working days and Hours

Normally trading of DSE opens from Sunday to Thursday between 10.30 am to 2.30 pm Bangladeshi times. Friday and Saturday is holidays in Bangladesh. It is been closed in government holidays.
