Durga Puja Dates are celebrated from Friday, October 20, 2023, till Tuesday, October 24, 2023. this year. Mahalaya will be held on Sat, Oct 14, 2023.  It is an invitation from Maa Durga. Dashami will celebrate on 19 October 18. Panchami is the starting date of Durga Puja.

Dashami is also known as Navaratri. Maa Durga is invited to the earth on the date of Mahalaya.  The lunar calendar fixes the Puja date.

 Durga Puja is a Hindu festival in India; mainly it is celebrated in Bengal. Lord Ram had also done this Puja in the springtime. This Puza is known as 'akal-bodhan.'

About Durga

Maa Durga has ten arms ten blessings tools. She comes to the earth with her two sons and two daughters with blessing. She fights against the evil force and saves the good people. We can see six non-humans on her dais. They are the lion vehicle of Durga, the rat vehicle of Ganesh, the peacock vehicle of Kartik, a Swan with Saraswati, the owl is the vehicle of Lakshmi and the Buffalo vehicle of Ashur. All have a different symbol and meaning. On the day of Dashami, Durga is immersion with her family in rivers or ponds.

Her four sons and daughters have some extraordinary qualities. Goddess Saraswati is the symbol of education. God Ganesh is the symbol of the Completion of work. Goddess Lakshmi is the symbol of wealth. God Kartik is the symbol of Beauty strength and valor;.

Kolkata India is the place where the Durga Puja festival celebrates tremendously. In Bangladesh, there are many Puja Mondob that can be seen at Shakari Bazar and Bangla Bazar in old Dhaka. West Bengal Government offers a long-term holiday for her citizens. Dosomi is the national holiday in Bangladesh.
