It is the world’s 11th longest bridge and 6th in South Asia. It is the biggest bridge in Bangladesh. Its length is about 5.63 kilometers. The width of the bridge is about 18.5 meters. The longest span is about 100 meters. The name of the bridge was changed to Bangabandhu Bridge. Bangabandhu is the father of the nation. It connects Bhuapur and the east bank of the Jamuna River, Sirajganj. It is a multipurpose bridge. The bridge contains both railroad and road for the buses, tracks, and cars.
