North Bengal Medical College was established in 2000. It is in Sirajganj district. The college has the objective of improving the healthcare sector and medical
education in Bangladesh.
About North Bengal Medical College
The college was established with the approval of the Bangladesh Government. Rajshahi University is affiliated with the college. The founder of the medical college is Professor Dr. M. A. Matin, a well-known personality in our country.
The medical college was established by considering the lack of adequate modern Medicare facilities in the northern part of the country, especially Sirajganj. The hospital has four buildings of 112000 square feet which provide both health-care and medical education. The hospital consists of about 450 beds for the patients.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
The candidates who want to get admitted to the college must have passed both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations with a minimum combined GPA of 8.00 determined by the government. The students must not have a GPA below 3.50 in any of these two examinations. The students must have Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in HSC and the minimum GPA in Biology has to be 3.50. The candidates from O level or A level with equivalent GPA are eligible for the MBBS admission.
Selection Procedure:
The final selection will be done according to the merit list of written examinations taken by DHBS. The applicants have to apply through a form that is obtainable from the admission office. A duly attested application form has to be submitted with a non-refundable registration fee of TK. 1000 only. The foreign eligible candidates have to apply through their embassy and Bangladesh embassy according to the Ministry of Health and Family Planning.

Original certificates and mark-sheets of both the SSC and HSC examinations have to be submitted. The admission office will hold these documents till the end of the MBBS course. The candidates have to submit a Testimonial from the principal of college from which he or she had passed the HSC examination. Candidates must submit three passport size color photos and the original admit card of examination. The students who are selected for admission will be medically examined by the medical board. Only the fit candidates will be allowed for admission.

The college has a campus on the bank of river Jamuna with ten bighas of land in the central town of Sirajganj. It has a beautiful lush green campus which fascinates the students and the patients.
