Shab e Miraj is the Muslim religion fact that took place in the late night of 27th Rajab probably while the Muslim Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was on the journey to Heaven. Generally from the eve of evening to next day on 27th Rajab every Muslim celebrates Isra and Miraj. This night of ascension to Heaven is also acknowledged as Lailat Ul Meraj night.
Time & duration of Shab e Miraj
Shab e Miraj is a peaceful and extraordinary night to pray and chance to meet the Almighty Allah. This night is celebrated every year on 27th Rajab in all Islamic calendar country. Bangladeshi Muslims take part in the festival on the same date in Islamic calendar (probably 24th May in 2014). Though the date is not definitely 27th Rajab, many Muslims have notion to celebrate it on this date.
In the Holy Quran, Surah Al-Isra says the knowledge of Isra and Miraj. Many Hadiths are written about this Holy night.
“Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.”- Al Quran, Chapter 17 (Al-Isra) verse 1
Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Shab e Miraj:
Almighty Allah called Muslim Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to make an ascension to the Holy Heaven on this night. Muhammad (PBUH) was travelling from Mecca to Medina Baitul Muqaddas and then, after the midnight Allah sent Angel Jibraeel and Mikael to take him (PBUH) to visit Heaven. He (PBUH) ascended to Heaven riding on Burraq (an animal like horse).That night he (PBUH) saw the peace in Heaven and sorrows in Hell. He (PBUH) met with the greatest Allah. While in the meeting with Allah he (PBUH) came to know about the Salah (Muslims’ daily prayer) and how much times a Muslim needs to pray per day. Muhammad (PBUH) managed or was gifted to pray 5 Waqt (times) in a day.
In fact, Shab e Maraj is a historical and memorable night for all Muslims introduced by Muhammad (PBUH).
Importance of ShabeMiraj:
Shab e Miraj is one of the most peaceful night throughout the year. This night holds up the meaning to pray, acknowledge of Allah the Almighty, result to be good or bad, ways to get place in Heaven etc. and so on. Allah helps themselves who pray the whole night. Especially Muslims pray to eradicate all past sins and blessed upon on that night.
Lailat Ul Miraj is not the Sunnah Ibadat. There is no proof to celebrate the night as Sunnah. Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions always devoted to follow the Islamic Sunnah and prayed all the time they lived. So, every Muslim should pray even a single moment to be grateful to the God.
This night holds up the truth of being the Almighty Allah and his relation to his creation. Man is the best Makhluqat (creation) of Allah and this is a best gift to send them to the earth. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the ideal for every Muslim. His (PBUH) lifestyle is ideal for them and shows the path to deserve the Jannat (Heaven).This night is a sign of Muslim beliefs.
Every Muslim should put every step according to Islamic rules. Lailat Ul Miraj or Shab e Miraj is a great example to be the honest, pious and grateful human beings.
