The college was established in the year 1997 with a view to improving women's education in Bangladesh. The college is aimed at building talented women graduates in various disciplines.

Currently, the college has been providing higher secondary education and graduate-level education to women only. The college provides training in various fields for the students so they can become self-sufficient.

Subjects and Departments

The graduation level degrees provided by the college include B.A, BBS, BS, BSS, and BSC (Pass) courses. The graduation level education is conducted under the supervision of the National University. The major departments of the college include Bangla English, History, Political Science, Social Work, Economics, Geography, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Finance, Botany, Zoology, Home Economics, and Psychology etc.

Facilities

There is a big library for the students with books on various subjects including reference books, journals, dailies, and weeklies. The students can borrow books from the library for 7 to 15 days. There are laboratories for various subjects. The college offers financial help for the poor and meritorious students. The canteen of the college provides hygienic foods for the students. There is a very big auditorium where various seminars, workshops, and symposiums are held.

Admission

The HSC-level students are admitted after the publication of the SSC result. The students have to purchase the form and submit it before the deadline. The college authority reviews all the forms and sort students based on their merit. The selected candidates are invited to get admitted upon paying the admission fee to Sonali Bank, Laxmibazar Branch. The graduation level students are admitted according to the rules and regulations of the National University. The students have to collect the form from the National University and submit it by filling it out properly. The students have to sit for a common admission test and the top-ranked students are allowed to get admitted.
