The college was established in the year 1950 with only 5 female students. The responsibility to establish this college was imposed upon sister of a church named Augustin Marei. The main objective behind the establishment of the college is to promote women education in the then East-Pakistan, presently Bangladesh.

The medium of rendering education in the college is Bangla. The motto of the college is to be “Gentle in manner, strongly indeed”. Since the establishment of the college, it has been contributing significantly in providing good quality intermediate education. It is run by the Christian missionary, like Notre Dame College.

Admission

As the college operates under Bangladesh Education Board, it maintains the rules and regulations determined by the board in case of admitting students. The college only admits the female students as it is a women college. For admission, the student must have 3.5 for humanities, 4.00 for business studies and 5.00 for since background in SSC examination. The students have to apply through mobile SMS to 16222. The students have to collect and submit the admission form from the college before the given deadline.

The college used to provide B.A degree at the University of Dhaka. But it stopped to do so form the year 1974. At present, the college provides on HSC level education with great success. The HSC level education is conducted according to the rules of Bangladesh Education Board. The majors for HSC level education include- Science, Humanities, and Business Studies.

Facilities Available for the Students

There are about 45 teachers for the students. The number of students is about 2500. There is a big library in the college with thousands of books for HSC level.
