The Format of the Test
The test has a particular format. The students have to sit for the test for all the aspects of a language such as Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. The students must sit for all the tests for passing the examination. There are two modules for both reading and writing sections. They are academic module and training module.

IELTS Listening Test
The listening test lasts for 30 minutes. There are four sections in the listening test. A dialogue or monolog is played on a cassette tape, and then the students have to answer some questions based on what they heard when the cassette was played.
IELTS Reading Test
This test lasts for 60 minutes. Students have to sit or academic reading test or general training test. The students have to choose one of the given options at the time of registration. In both the options the difficulty level increases as the time progresses.
IELTS Writing Test
It also lasts for 60 minutes, and there are also two options like the reading test. The options are academic writing and general training writing. The students have to write a different style of writing such as essays, argument writing, amplification and précis writing.
IELTS Speaking Test
It may take place after one or two days of the test mentioned above. It consists of one to one interview with a specially trained examiner. The interview usually lasts for 11-14 minutes. The students are asked to speak on a certain topic or give answers to some questions.
The students must take very good preparation for getting a good score in IELTS examination. The universities and colleges in abroad consider more than five the IELTS score.
