Jessore is a district town in the south-east of Bangladesh under Khulna Division. It is one of the oldest cities in Bangladesh and many tourist spots for travel.
About Jessore
It was established in 1781. Khulna was a Mhakuma under Jessore district at the time British-India. In 1947, it was divided between India and Bangladesh. In 1450, Pir Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali had come with other twelve Aulia and had started Islam outreach here.
Another part is in now wit West Bangle India, which is known as 24 Pargona. The district has eight Upzila or sub-district. It has the border with India. Benapole (বেনাপল) is a land border with Bangladesh-India. Major export and import between two countries are done by this border.
Our great poet Michael Madhusudan Dutta was born in this district. Date juice and the flower is famous in this place.
The postal code is 7400 and NWD Code is 0421. There is two shopping complex in the city. They are Jess Tower and City Plaza. The place is one of the notable tourist spots in Bangladesh.
