Pubali Bank Limited is one of the oldest banks in Bangladesh established in the year 1959 under the banking company act 1913. The nickname of the bank is PBL.

About Pubali Bank Bangladesh
At the time of establishment, the name of the bank was Mercantile Bank Limited. The bank was nationalized in the year 1972 after the liberation war of Bangladesh and renamed as Pubali Bank Limited. Since the establishment, the bank has been playing a vital role in the development of the economy of the country. At present, it is the largest private commercial bank in Bangladesh having 427 branches. It has also got the largest centralized online banking network. In the last six years, the bank maintained a growth rate of about 20%. It has 1000 ATM booths across the country and another 100 ATM booths are in the process of establishment.

Over the last few years, the bank has gained a lot of national and international awards. The awards include Bangladesh Business award in 2009, BOA award for contribution in games, Best Rated Bank in 2010, and Best Banker 2011 award.

Like other banks Pubali Bank Limited, Bangladesh offers diversified services to the clients and customers. The major departments of the Bank include Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Personal Loans, Lease Financing, SME financing, Trade Finance, Islamic Banking. Personal Loans of the bank include car, purchase, household, medical equipment, and government primary school teacher loans. SME Financial Loans by PBL include subarna, karma uddog, Sujan and pubali prochesta. These loans are provided to the new small business start-ups. Facilitating the trade, the bank has trade finance services. The bank provides Export and import LC, Back to Back LC and EDF LC. In Islamic Banking services, the bank has two schemes. They are deposit schemes and investment schemes. Under deposit saving scheme the bank provides Mudaraba saving the account, Al-wadeeah current account, and Mudaraba Hajj saving the account.
