Sapparo Dental College Hospital Dhaka

The main objective behind establishment of Sapparo Dental College Hospital Dhaka is to develop the level of dental education and health care in Bangladesh. The college is focused in creating skilled and trained oral health-care professionals. In Bangladesh the number of skilled graduate dentist is very low in proportion to the number of population. The dentist and patient ratio is the lowest in the world. The attempt to establish the bringing technological and scientific development in the dental medicals. Currently, it is affiliated with University of Dhaka and providing BDS degree to the students.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery or BDS degree is a four year long degree. All the students have to perform at least one year internship after completion of the course. Hence, the total 5 years are to be taken to complete the degree. The students who have passed SSC and HSC with a combined GPA of 8.00 can apply for admission in this college. But the candidates must have studied certain subjects such as biology, physics, and chemistry in HSC level. The student must have at least GPA 3.5 in Biology in HSC exam. The candidates have to apply online through DGHS website. The admission process is combination of two steps. They are written test and medical examination. The selection board takes a face to face interview of the candidates in the merit list to examine the motivation of the candidate towards the dental career. However, the decision of the admission authority of Sapparo Dental College Hospital will be final. Foreign students who have completed equivalent level of HSC/A level can apply for admission. The foreign candidate must have combined GPA 7.00 in equivalent SSC and HSC examination. The applicants must send their application trough Bangladesh missions abroad and the application must reach Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
