It has about 3800 students studying and taking training in various departments. The institute is renowned for its diploma in engineering education. It operates under the control of the education ministry of Bangladesh government. The academic activities are controlled and monitored by the Board of Technical Education Bangladesh. The vision of the institute is to develop skilled human resources through training and education who can contribute to the development of Bangladesh.

Departments and Subjects

The institute has eight departments at present. It provides diploma education in civil, power, mechanical, computer, environmental, instrumental process control, electronics, and electrical engineering. The institution is very eager to gain excellence in teaching and training. It strives to create a link between the technical programs and various industries.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility

Candidates with Grade Point 3.00 or 60% marks in the SSC or equivalent examination can attend the admission test taken by the Directorate of Technical Education. According to the rule, the candidates must get a GPA of 3.00 or above in general and higher in mathematics. Students below this GPA can’t attend the admission test. Candidates must apply online through the official website of DTE. Before application, the students must pay TK 200 through Teletalk SMS to 16222.
