Comilla Victoria College is one of the well-known colleges in Bangladesh, located in Comilla District. The nickname of the college is VCC.
About Comilla Victoria College
It is a government college established in the year 1899. It is also one of the oldest colleges in Bangladesh. The founder of the college is Roy Bahadur Ananda Chandra Roy. The college has a huge area of 32 acres of land. It has students of about 14,000. To provide education to 14000 students, the college has about 160 teachers. The first principle of the college was Babu Sattayandronath Bashu. The present principle of the college is Professor Abdur Rashid.
Subjects and Departments
It provides both higher secondary and graduation level education to the students. The higher high school level education includes Science, Humanity, and Business Studies. The college also offers BA pass, B.A Honors, and M.A degree. There are 20 academic departments and 20 subjects for BA honors. There are 17 subjects for M.A.
Facilities Available for the Students
For the girls, there are two hostels where for the boys there are three hostels. Only the students coming from distant places are allowed to stay in the hostels. It has a library with many books on different subjects. There are laboratories for various topics. There is also a computer lab for the students. The students can play both indoor and outdoor games.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
For HSC level education the students are invited to apply for admission after the publication of the SSC exam result. The eligibility for application is given in the admission circular which is published in various national daily newspapers.
The college admits the graduation level students based on the result of HSC. The admission takes place according to the rules and regulation determined by National University. The students have to collect the form for the National University. They have no seat for a common examination for the admission.
