Chapainawabganj District Information
Chapainawabganj is in the northern part of Bangladesh. It is under the
Rajshahi Division. Mainly it was a subdivision under the Malda district. After partition, it was a subdivision of Rajshahi Zilla. It became a separate district of Bangladesh in 1984.
The ancient times it was with Gaur. The largest part of the land of this region is plain land with lots of small ponds and water reservoirs. Main rivers are Padma, Mahananda, Pagla.
Upazilla and municipality
Chapai Nawabganj district has five Upazilas. They are Bholahat, Gomastapur, Nachole, Nawabganj Sadar, and Shibganj Upazila. Nawabganj Sadar has four municipalities. They are Shibganj, Rohanpur and Nichole.
Border
The district is bordered by India on the north, south, and west, Rajshahi and Naogaon districts on the east.
