Lalmatia Mohila College is a woman educational institution. It is one of the famous colleges in Dhaka. The location is in Block-B, Lalmatia, Dhaka Bangladesh. The nickname of the college is LMC.
History and Background of Lalmatia Mohila College
The College is a women college in Bangladesh. It established in the year 1966 with a view to promoting the women education in Bangladesh. The period when the college was established, women education used to be considered unnecessary. They were forced to stay at home and help parents at home. So, the establishment of such a women college at that time was a huge challenge. At present, the college has managed to promote the girls education in Bangladesh. The current number of female students in the college is about 3415.
Subjects and Departments
The college provides both Higher Secondary level and Graduation level education to the students. In masters, the number of subjects taught is 14 and in honors the number is 17. For higher secondary level education, the college offers Science, Business and Humanity and related topics. Bangladesh Education Board is regulating and coordinating courses curriculum.
Facilities Available for the Students
There are 117 teachers for the students who are very much dedicated to providing the best education to the students. There are two academic buildings one is two, and another is three floored. The two floored building constitutes Science faculty. There is a 3 storied student hostel in the college. The college has a very rich website with all the necessary information for the students. The library of the college is huge and contains thousands of books. It has a well-equipped science lab and computer lab.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
The college admits HSC and graduates level students after the publication of the result of HSC result. It publishes circular to admit students articulating all the necessary requirements.
The college admits the Higher Secondary Level students according to the rules and regulations determined by the Dhaka Education Board.
The college provides Honors and Masters Degree to the students under the affiliation of National University. The candidates have to sit for an admission test. The eligible candidates are given the chance to get admission in graduation level.
