Thakurgaon Polytechnic Institute is one of the newest polytechnic institute in Bangladesh established in the year 2004 located three kilometres far to west of Thakurgaon town. It is also called TPI.
It is the only polytechnic institute in Thakurgaon district. The institute offers four diploma engineering course in various subjects. It was established to meet the increasing demand for engineers in Bangladesh and build up qualified and skilled persons. The institute aims to provide advanced technological education to the students with practical knowledge so that survive in the competitive job market. It operates under Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
Departments and Subjects
The institute started its journey with two departments they are general technology and computer technology. At present the institute has expanded its horizon and now there are more courses offered. The departments include refrigeration, architecture, interior design, engineering, food, electronics and computer engineering. The courses are designed such a way so that the students can become skilled and use their knowledge comfortably in the practical life.
Facilities Available for the Students
The institute has labs with are equipped with modern technological equipment. The labs facilitate the need for practical learning as well as the theoretical knowledge. The teachers help the students to coordinate their theoretical knowledge with the practical experience through the lab practices. It has a big library which is filled with thousands of technological books and journals. For the health care of the students the institute has medical facility as well.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
For getting admitted in this institution the students must sit for an admission test which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.
The students must have minimum GPA 3.00 in the SSC or other equivalent examinations to be eligible for the admission test. The GPA must not be below 3.00 in general math and higher math.
The students will have to apply online through the official website of DTE. The form will be available in the website. Before form fill-up the students have to pay TK. 200 through Teletalk SMS to 16222.
