Dhaka Residential Model College is one of the reputed colleges located at Mohammadpur in Dhaka. The nickname of the college is DRMC.
About Residential Model College
The college was established in the year 1960 by the then Pakistan government. The college was established on 50 acres of land in resemblance of a public school in England. The main motto of the college is to strive for excellence. In the beginning, the responsibility of the college was taken by the then Pakistan government. But later, in 1962 the Pakistan government left the college's liability to the provincial government.
Subjects and Departments
The college provides Primary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary Level education to the students. The majors include Science, Humanities and Business Studies. The students are taught various subjects as determined by the Bangladesh Education Board. The subjects are taught by very skilled and qualified teachers and instructors. Both English and Bangla medium studies are available in the college.
Facilities Available for the Students
There are 176 teachers for about 4000 students of the college. There are six hostels for the students with a homely living environment. Quality and healthful foods are served to the students living in the college hostel. About 1000 students live in the hostels. The teachers monitor the hostels. The college has a large library with a very good sitting arrangement so that the students can study very comfortably without any disturbance. There are laboratories and computer labs with internet connection as well.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
Students are admitted at primary, secondary and higher secondary levels. The college runs under the supervision of the Bangladesh Education Board, and hence follows all the rules and regulations determined by the education board.
For HSC level admission, the college publishes a circular in traditional daily newspapers to inform students. Students must collect the admission form from the admission office of the college. Only selected candidates are granted admission to the college.
