The nickname of the University is SUST. The university was established in the year 2012. The University has been established according to the private university act 1992 which was later revised in the year 1998 and 2010. The University Grant Commission approves the university, the regulatory body to give recognition to the newly established universities and the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh Government. The university is very much dedicated to proving modern knowledge and educates the students in the field of Science and Technology. The University is located in the Shariatpur district which is one of the districts in Bangladesh lagging behind regarding education, especially in science education. The establishment of this university in such remote or rural area of Bangladesh is like blessings for the people of the region.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility ZH Sikder University of Science and Technology
- Engineering background students, the minimum required GPA in both SSC and HSC are 3.00 and combined GPA- 6.5.
- The business background students, the minimum GPA is 3.0 in both the board examinations with a minimum combined GPA-6.00.
- For Humanities the candidates must have GPA 2.5 in SSC and HSC examinations with a minimum combined GPA 5.5.
The candidates will have to collect the admission form from the university campus and submit with two passport size photos with certificates and mark sheets of all the examinations.

The major departments of the university include Department of English, Law, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Science.
