About Daffodil University Bangladesh
The university was established in the year 2002 with approval from Ministry of Education and University Grant Commission. At present, the university is one of the biggest private universities in Bangladesh with 7 campuses. The campuses of the university are located in- Shukrabad, Sobhanbag, Panthapath, Lalmatia, and Uttara. It has about 40 acres of land in Dhaka near Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, Bashundhara Baridhara Project, and Chowberia. It has a very large global network. The university has collaboration with USA, UK, New Zealand, and 17 other countries. It brings hugBangladeshe opportunity for the students of this university to get easy scholarships in these countries. It also has international affiliation with many leading universities and organizations.
Subjects and Departments
There are five faculties in Daffodil University. The faculties of this university include Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Engineering, Business and Economics, Humanities and Social Science, and Allied Health Science. The university has 20 departments in the above mentioned faculties. The programs of the university include- Undergraduate and Masters, International IT Programs, and various short courses. At present, 6 international IT programs are running in this university. It has 271 full time and 105 part time faculty members. 36 faculty members of this university are in Study leave. The teachers of this university are very diligent and eager to provide the best quality education to the students.
Facilities Available for the Students
It has 40 well equipped laboratories. The university has 6 storied separate central library building in Uttara Campus. Beside main campus, there is a 4 storied central exam control center for all the branches. It has a very big auditorium capable of accommodating 500 people. All the classrooms of the university are multimedia rooms with all kinds of modern facilities. It has multimedia seminar hall with electronic writing board. There are two canteens for the students with quality foods and service. There are various clubs in this university such as business club, real estate club, English literary club, and prothom alo bondhu shova.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
- The candidates must have combined GPA 5.00 in both SSC and HSC exam result.
- The candidates must be fluent in English and have very good communication and presentation skills.
- The applicants can apply online going to the website of the university. The students will have to sit for an admission test to be able to get admitted in the university. After written test the eligible candidates have to face and viva to get selected finally.
- The written examination contains 100 marks where the Viva contains 25 marks.
