Gazipur District Information
Gazipur ( গাজীপুর জেলা) is a district under Dhaka Division. Mainly it is an industrial area for garments. Private, government and multinational companies have industries here. It was a part of Dhaka district. It has an area of 1741.53 km2. The district was established in 1984. It consists of 5 Upazilas, 46 Union Parishad, 710 Mouzas, two municipalities and 1163 villages.

The district has been Bounded By Mymensingh and Kishoreganj district on the north, Dhaka, Narayanganj districts on the south, Narsingdi on the east, Dhaka and Tangail district on the west.
