History of Ahsan Manzil Museum

Ahsan Manzil is on the bank of the river Buriganga in Dhaka. The color of the walls of the buildings is pink which looks majestic. Recently, the site has been renovated and turned into a museum. It was the home of the then Nawab of Dhaka named Nawab Salimullah. At present, the building is the monument of historic beauty with a lot of eye-catching sights that attracts thousands of visitors every year to the spot.

The place is famous for Museum and Heritage. The pink color of the buildings is amazing and eye soothing. There are 31 rooms in the construction with a huge dome on top of the monument which can be seen from miles away around. At present, there are 24 galleries displaying furniture, portraits, and various materials and objects used by the Nawab. The site remains closed on Thursday and the government holidays. Entry Fees The entry fees vary based on the demographics such as age, gender, country and nationality. For Adults and SAARC visitors the entry fee is TK 5. And for children (under 12 years) the fee is TK. 2. For foreigners except for SAARC countries the entry fee is TK 75. For students and unusual people there is no fee but they have to show valid documents for permission.

Transportation and Communication

One can visit this historical architecture very easily through rickshaws and other public vehicles. The architecture is near to Jagannath University which is very close to Sadarghat. It may cost up to TK 300, and 30 consecutively to reach this historical place by taxies and buses from Shahajalal International Airport and Comolapur Railway Station.
