History of BahadurShah Victoria Park
Bahadur Shah Victoria Park is Bangla-Bazar area in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The memorial was initiated in the year 1858 by Nawab Dhwaja Abdul Gani. The park was initially named Victoria Park but in 1947. The park was renamed after Bahadur Shah, the last Mughal emperor. Every year thousands of visitors from all over the world come to this historic place to witness its architectural and natural beauty.
Major Attractions of Park
In this park, you will find a great memorial at the eastern side. It is an obelisk which commemorates the ascending of the throne of Queen Victoria as the Empress of the Indian subcontinent. You will also find an excellent sculpture on the western side of the park. The statue was built in the dignity of the martyrs. You will find a fountain in the middle of the park which is eye soothing.
