Veterinary University of Chittagong CVASU

Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was established in February 2nd 2006. Nick name is CVASU. The public varsity located at Khulshi. it is presently ranked as the 9363rd university across the world. Initially, the university started its journey in 1995, under the affiliation of the Chittagong University. This has been upgraded from Chittagong Government Veterinary College (CGVC) to Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on 2006. The institute aims to offer veterinary programs and animal sciences to usher better animal farming development in Bangladesh. Each of the faculty consists of more than 300 students on an average today. Besides UG degree programs, the CVASU offers PhD programs that takes almost five consecutive years to complete and M.S programs that are segregated in three semesters and each of the semesters are done in six months. Specialty: The 40 week internship in different placement for UG programs that was inaugurated by the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was a game changing step in the education policy of Bangladesh. This is a major breakthrough in the system for sure.

Admission procedure and Eligibility of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University

Degree Offered - Under Graduates: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) B.Sc. Honours in Food Science & Technology (FST) B.Sc. Honours in Fisheries (FF) Post Graduate - MSc & PhD in Different Discipline Though the admission details of the 2014-15 is yet not published. But very soon the admission test dates will be published. Interested candidates are requested to keep an eye on the updates on the official website of the university. The expected GPA of SSC and HSC is probably 6.5, considering the previous year demands. Another source says that Khalikur Rahman, the public relations officer of CVASU has signed the test date on November 15th 2014, but officially it is not yet declared. Admission fee, result, the details of the Units and the admit card will be informed later on. Foreign student can get admission information from CVASU official website.

Hostel Residence and Accommodation

There are 4 student hostels. Two is for male and 2 are for female.

Candidates appearing for PhD programs can search for scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh Government and UGC. They can also keep a tab on the official website of CVASU for any declaration of scholarship.
