University of Dhaka is the top most public university in Bangladesh called the Oxford of East. The nickname of the university is DU. Every year, they offer admission for graduate education after HSC result. About DU The University of Dhaka was established by Nawab Bahadur Syed Nawab Ali Chowdhury on July 1st 1921 with 3 major Faculties, 12 Departments, 60 professors, 877 students and 3 dormitories in Ramna. The world ranking of this University is 3595. At present, the University has 13 Faculties, 71 Departments, 17 dormitories (Halls of Residence), 3 hostels, 10 institutes and nearly 38 centers with 1,805 professors and 33,112 students approximately. Dhaka University Admission Procedure Bangladesh

The students have to give admission test in various units such as Ka, Kha, Ga, Gha.In Ka unit the number of seat is 1640, Kha unit 2221, in Ga unit 1170, in Gha unit 1416, and in Cha unit 135. The total number of seat is about 6582. The admission test will start from September 12, 2015. The students of Business Studies have to apply in Ga Unit for admission. The students of Humanity have to apply in Kha unit and the Science background students have to apply in Ka unit. There is a common unit named Gha unit. It is for the students who want to change their subject in the Graduation level. The students have to apply online and download a pay in slip to make payment for participating in the admission test. The fees include TK 300 for admission fee, TK. 30 for online service charge and TK. 20 for bank service charge. The payment has to be made in any of the state owned banks (Sonali, Rupali, Agrani, and Janata). Admission eligibility

12-year schooling is must for admission in graduate program. 12-year schooling + 4-year graduation is must for postgraduate program. Ka-Unit - This unit comprise of Science, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology Earth and Environmental Sciences. Kha-Unit - This unit comprise of Arts, Social Science and Law. Ga-Unit - This unit comprise of Business Studies. Gha-Unit - This unit comprise of Arts, Social Sciences and Science combined. Cha-Unit - This is totally on Fine Arts. IER - Institute of Education and Research.. IBA - Institute of Business Administration. Students of each section have to download the admission form from the website and have to undergo an Admission Test. Considering the result of admission test the successful candidates are asked for viva-voice.

Admission fee:

1st year B.S.S., B.B.A., LL.B. and B.S Honours students have to pay Tk. 100.00 1st Year B.Pharm, B.S.C. Honours without Mathematics and Statistics will have to pay Tk. 1 25.00. Students of M.A, M.S.C, M.B.A., LL.M. and M.S, in Mathematics & statistics have to pay Tk.125.00. M Pham. & M.S. students except Mathematics and Statistics will have to pay Tk.150.00

Foreign student admission facilities:

Students from the SAARC countries will have to pay US $ 500/00 per year. Students from other than SAARC countries will have to pay US $ 1,200/00 per year.

Honours First year admission test result of Dhaka University is published on their official website. Get DU examination result for bachelor degree ( BA BSc BCom), Honors, (Hons), MBA, BBA, Journalism, CSE, LLB ( Law ) Masters ( MA and MSc ) batch and other Professional result of 1st Part, 2nd Part, 3rd semester of Science, arts and commerce departments and also first year honors admission test notice. Candidates, after applying for admission in DU, have to wait until all the tests are done. The results of the concerned sections are published at www.du.ac.bd.
