Southeast University Bangladesh Admission Information

Southeast University is a private university in Bangladesh. It is at Dhanmondi in Dhaka. The nickname of the University is SU.

About Southeast University

Southeast University was established in the year 2002 according to private university act 1992 which was later revised in the year 2010. The university is recognized by University Grant Commission and Bangladesh Education Ministry. It had a very humble beginning with only 27 students. At present, it is one of the most successful private universities in Bangladesh. It has the highest number of students enrolled in various departments, permanent campus and many other modern facilities for the students. SU is the only private university in Bangladesh that focuses on the welfare of the middle-class family students. The university wants to be an educational institution that will nurture individual excellence and greater well-being of the whole community. Since establishment, the contribution of the university in the development of the education sector of Bangladesh has been very significant.

Subjects and Departments

At present, the university has three faculties- School of Science and Engineering, School of Business Studies, Arts and Social Science Studies. Departments of the School of Business Studies include- Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, Tourism, and Hospitality Management, Human Resource Management, etc. Pharmacy, Textile Engineering, Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering departments constitute the School of Science and Engineering. Bengali, Law, English, Islamic Studies, Development Studies, and Economics represent the Arts Faculty. The university provides BSc, MSC, MBA, BBA, and LLB degree to the students. It has a group of highly qualified and skilled teachers who are committed to providing the best education to the students.

Facilities Available for the Students

The university has a huge central library with thousands of local and foreign books, journals, research papers and periodicals. It also has an online library. The university has various clubs where the students can participate to improve their extracurricular activities. It has eight hotels in Dhaka City. All the hostels have equal facilities for the students. Food quality and security is strictly maintained in these hostels. A medical officer is working with SU who is available from 2.00 Pm to 5.00 pm. The university has a campus that offers quality foods, drinks, desserts, tea, and coffee. The university also has indoor games facility for the students.

Admission Information Procedure and Eligibility

• The candidates must have minimum GPA 2.5 in both SSC and HSC examinations and combined GPA not lower than 6.00.

• The students must have at least five subjects in O-level and two subjects in A-level. The students must have B grade in the examinations.

• For the children of freedom fighters the minimum required combined GPA is 5.00 in SSC and HSC examination.

• The students will have to collect admission form paying Tk. 400 and submit with four copies of passport sized color photos and photocopies of all the certificates and mark sheets.
