The approximate height of the Madhabkunda Jarna is about 200 feet. The waterfall looks very attractive in the Rainy season, and the number of tourists doubles in that particular season. In fact, the beauty of the waterfall is incomparable to any other tourist spot in Bangladesh. At present, the waterfall is managed by Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation. The government has made a rest house for the convenience of the visitors.

Major Attractions of the Tourist Spot

Based on the Madhabkunda Waterfall an Eco-park has been created to entertain the visitors. You will find fascinating surroundings with various kinds of trees and a very big orange garden. A tribe named Khashia lives in the Madhabkunda area. So you will be able to explore the lifestyle of this tribe society. Every year in the Bengali month Chairiya, many Hindu religious people gather around the Waterfall to receive the blessings of Madobessor. At that time the area takes a festive look.

How to Get to The Spot

• The tourist spot is about 350 kilometers away from Dhaka, and it may take up to 5 hours to reach the tourist spot. The spot is 72 kilometers away from Sylhet Sadar and 72 kilometers away from Moulovibazar. Buses can directly come to this tourist spot from any part of Bangladesh.

• If you want to visit the tourist spot by train, you will have to get down to Kulaura railway station and then go to Kathaltoli by autorickshaw. From Kathaltoli it may take about 70-80 Tk to reach the Madhabkunda Falls.

The government has built a rest house for tourists, but you will have to book your seat earlier in the busy seasons as the rest house remains filled. You will find many quality hotels and restaurants in Barlekha. You will be able to have both local and foreign foods in these restaurants.
