Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar is located in Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is famous for the grave of one of the famous Muslim saints in the region.

History of Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar Sharif

Shahajalal was born in 1341 AD in Yemen. He was one of the famous Sufis in the Indian Subcontinent. The full name of the famous saint is Jalal Kuniat Mujdarat. He came to the region to preach Islam when he was 32 years old. He had many followers at that time, and his followers also spread out in various parts of the subcontinent to preach Islam. At present, there are about 360 graves from different saints in Sylhet. For this reason, the city is called Pobitro Nogori or Blessed land.

Major Tourist Attractions of Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar

You will find separate prayer rooms for both male and female visitors. The site has a majestic main gate. The main entrance is called the Dargah Gate. The Mazar is a living place for many pigeons. People who come here do not forget to feed them. When you enter the Mazar, you will find a very ancient mosque on your left-hand side. The mosque is about 1400 years old. The mosque was rebuilt in the year 1744. You will find a graveyard beside the grave of Hazrat Shahjalal. The cemetery contains the grave of many of his followers.

How to Get to the Spot

  • The Mazar is about 238 kilometers away from Dhaka. It may take about 5 hours to reach the place through Sylhet Highway. From the main city of Sylhet, the spot is about 1 kilometer away from the Sylhet central town, and it may require 10 to 12 minutes to reach there.

  • If you take a bus from Dhaka, you will have to get down to Kadamtoli bus station in Sylhet. From the bus station, you will find all kinds of vehicles to reach the spot.

Shah Paran Mazar Sharif in Sylhet a Holy Place for Muslim

Shah Paran Mazar is in Sylhet district of Bangladesh. The place is very famous as it contains the grave of one of the famous saints of the region. Mazar is popular as Darga Sharif in Bangladesh.

History of Shah Paran Mazar

Sylhet is called the city of 360 saints. The graves of numerous saints are found in various parts of the city. They are the history of the city. Among all the renowned saints, Shahajalal and Shahaporan are the most famous. Shahajalal is the maternal uncle of Shahaporan in relation. Every year thousands of religious people visit this spot to show their respect to these saints.

Major Attractions of the Spot

The Mazar or dargah of Shahparan is located in Khadimnagar. The Darga Sharif is not as big as the Mazar of Shahjalal. You will find many shops selling candles, Aagarbati, Golapjol, and Shirni. You will find a vivacious atmosphere in the shop area. The Mazar is located on a small mount. There are separate facilities for the male and female visitors in the Mazar. If you visit the spot, you will find many people praying and asking for help from Almighty. One of the attracting things is a mango tree, locally called Asha Gas. The tree yields both mango and fig (dumur) at the same time. Many people eat figs off the tree for the cure of diseases. Besides these, there is a very ancient mosque in the West. Mughals built it.

How to Get to the Spot

The Mazar is 263 kilometers away from Dhaka and it may take about 5 hours to reach the place through Sylhet highway. The spot is about 7 kilometers away from the main city. You will find many vehicles from both the central town and the Mazar of Shahjalal.
If you want to go there from Dhaka, you will have to get down from the bus in the Kadamtoli Bus station and then start the journey for the tourist spots.

Most of the hotels are in Sylhet city. There are hotels in the Mazar area. You will find a Boarding for the stay which is run by the servants of the Mazar. But you will find many hotels in the main city where you will get both local and foreign foods at an affordable price.

Bangabandhu Mazar at Tungipara in Gopalganj Bangladesh

Bangabandhu Mazar is the graveyard of the father of nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman located in Tungipara Upazila of Gopalganj District in Bangladesh.

History Bangabandhu Mazar

Tungipara is the birthplace of national leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was killed by the traitors in the year 1975, 15th August. He along with all of his family members except two daughters Sheikh Rehana and Sheikh Hasina were killed at a time. Later his dead body was brought to his birthplace Tungupara for commemoration. Every year we remember the contributions of Bangabandhu in 15th August. It is a very historic and important place for the Bangladeshi people.

When you enter the Mazar gate, at the left-hand side you will find a building. The building was the house of his parents. The Mausoleum Complex is on the right-hand side. The mausoleum complex holds the grave of Bangabandhu. The complex area has very calm and quiet surrounding. Every year thousands of people go to Tungipara at 15th August. At that time the place takes a very festive look.

How to Get to the Spot

  • Tungipara is about 227.5 kilometers away from Dhaka, and it may take about 6 hours to reach the tourist spot through Dhaka-Aricha Highway. It is about 6.00 kilometers away from Tungipara, and it may take 14 minutes to reach the tourist spot through Baynabari Road.

  • You may get to the tourist spot by bus. After reaching Tungipara, you will find all kinds of vehicles including rickshaws, auto rickshaws, and taxis to get to the tourist spot.
